American Standard™ commercial products help businesses and facilities go green, reducing water use in hotels, offices, restaurants, stores and other locations. Building projects that use American Standard products can earn points toward certification levels under the LEED program (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). LEED was created by the U.S. Green Building Council to establish common standards for environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. Two of the 69 total LEED points involve indoor water use, with one point earned for a 20% reduction in overall water consumption and two points for achieving a 30% reduction. There is also an additional point available for exemplary performance of a 40% water reduction. All American Standard products appearing in our catalog meet eligibility requirements for water-efficiency programs and can be used toward LEED points.
